Please pray for us...

We are all down and out. We went to the Drs yesterday. We all have sinus infections. DD1 and DS1 both have bronchitis. Both boys have ear infections. I am feeling the bronchitis today. We were supposed to have a family party today in PA. We were not up to going. The Dr put us all on Zpack. We are starring at Little House on the Prairie while we try to recuperate. Just glad we have the good stuff to watch.
Back to the couch...Thanks for praying.

Check out my affiliates!

Good Afternoon!
If you have a minute, click on the links to my affiliates halfway down the left side of the page. These are companies that we use and appreciate. Maybe you will like them too.

Everyone is still down and out today. DS1 took a nap at 9:30 this morning! DS2 is about to take his. The girls are feeling it a bit and we are continuing to relax in front of movies by the fire. The girls want me to straight iron their hair today. I have enough energy to do that at least. I will post pictures of their new hair soon.

Bad Colds

We had a nice morning yesterday with Papa and Granmommy at their house. DH didn't have to go to work until 4:30am (this morning) so he was able to be with us yesterday. We spent part of the afternoon watching Little House on the Prairie. We are all now sick with bad colds and even had to back out of the big family party yesterday. DH is off on a trip and was not coughing like the rest of us. PTL! DS2 had a fever of 105 on Christmas Eve night and we had to try to get that down around 11pm. So, we are hanging in there...Motrin, Benedryl, Dayquil...they sure help to make a difference. The boys are napping, the girls are watching another movie and I am heading back to the couch. Please pray for us to be well! We have another family event on the 29th and would sure like to be feeling great for it. Pray for Granmommmy too as she seems to get whatever we get, but always with the added bonus of something on top of it.

I am not sure why my blog is not allowing comments from outside users. I have all of the settings correct and have even rewritten a part of the HTML to try to solve the problem. I will continue to try to fix it. Just not today...

Blessings to you!

Our Christmas Eve Morning!

Good Afternoon! We had a wonderful celebration this morning. Peter and I decided on 3 gifts per child (gold, frankincense, myrrh) plus stockings. We were able to really make the morning last! The kids played with the things from their stockings as we made the first breakfast snack. Then we had them take turns opening one present and they played with those while we made another snack. We continued until everything was opened. It took 2 hours and it was great! It makes the shopping, wrapping and planning so worth it to see their sweet faces so happy with their treasures. It has been unusually warm today but we still burned a fire. DS2 was down to his diaper by the time we were finished. The big gifts were the Thomas Roundhouse for the boys and the Glitter Palace house for the girls. DS1 and DD2 each got bikes and we all went out to cheer them on while they learned how to balance. They pretty much have it down!
We are off to get ready for Christmas Eve service at church. The girls sang at the service yesterday and tonight is the big kid choir. I pray you have a blessed evening and day tomorrow as you celebrate the birth of our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ!

Playing catch up

Hi All!
I am still here. Everyone is taking a nap before heading to my parents for pre-Christmas Eve. Our family tradition on Christmas Eve is to open one present. That present is always new pjs' from my parents. We have to celebrate tonight as DH is on call for work for Christmas and we wanted to make sure he could be here for the celebration.

I am trying to play catch up since we returned from CA. I have not been able to get on top of everything around the house, etc. It just piles up. I am a routine girl. I like having my kids in a routine and I like my own routine. When naps are scheduled and school is scheduled then I know what to do when! I am flying by the seat of my pants this week and although it is nice to have some time off I am starting to burying myself with things to be done. I just got the girls to come downstairs to empty the dishwasher--this will help.

So, I didn't really have time to talk about much. I have to get everyone together to get out the door. My hope is that once I am on top of everything I will be back here (in the next few days) to talk about bigger topics than just our daily journal stuff!

One funny story before I go...
Last night we went to drive through the big light display with Papa and Granmommy. We had so much fun! The boys were showing off how they can sing the ABC's. They went back and forth for a bit and when it was DS2's turn (he is a new 3yo) he sang ABCD John's a little baby! Ok, not sure if he was being mean...I don't think so, but it was so funny because he admitted that was what he sang. It went so perfectly with the tune that you had to listen carefully to pick it out! GMommy and I had a good laugh about that one. John (our newly 4yo) said, "I'm not a baby, I'm a big boy!"

OK, really heading out now.

A fun day in Cali

Hello All!
We enjoyed a morning of playing in the pool. DH's Dad and Mom heated the pool up to 81. The spa was at 83 and the small difference kept us in the spa a good bit of the time. We had the kids go back to the pool every time they wanted to jump, splash, kick, etc. We enjoyed watching the golfers this morning. We were all looking at a golf ball in the middle of the fairway and awaiting the golfer to drive up to it in this picture...

We are having a relaxing time. DH and DH-Dad are out on the course this afternoon. The rest of the family is coming to visit with us tomorrow and Sunday. We will head home on Monday. We are looking forward to the fun time with the extended family on Sunday.
Sushifam: we will miss you! XO

Hello Sunny Cali!

We are off! I am not sure if I will post during our time with our CA family.

Our bags are in the car and we are headed to set up for the co-op Christmas party! We fly out 2 hours after party clean up. It's a packed day!

We are ready 30 minutes ahead of time. That's never good because now I have to find things for the kids to do without getting out toys. Looks like it's trampoline time...of course it's all wet outside from the morning misty rain. Do I really want them to get all wet for the day? DS2 is asking to play with play-dough. I thought of something everyone can chip in on...sweeping up the pine needles from the Christmas tree!!

Ok, now we are out the door!

Please pray for us as we travel...thanks everyone.

See you on the other side...

It's Tuesday night!

It's Tuesday night and the 2nd big day of our busy week is almost over. The girls are getting the boys ready for bed. They are also continuing to come downstairs to ask me if they can pack a few random things for our trip tomorrow. My sweet girls have decided to form a Bible Club! It makes a Moma proud. They are memorizing the "Blessed are those" verses from Matthew. They have packed small carry on bags for the plane so that they can write their verses out in their spiral notebooks.

We had a fun time at our umbrella meeting this evening. It is always so nice to have the time for the kids to run around and play while we socialize and snack. Our umbrella oversees our homeschooling. They report to county on our behalf. We are hoping to help with overseeing families next year so that ours doesn't have to turn anyone away.

Family in Cali--we can't wait to see you soon! xo

Jiffy Pop

Amongst a myriad of other things,
Jiffy Pop is a new adventure for the Precious in His Site kids!

Today has been a day of school and grocery shopping. We had to hit three stores to cover our needs today. We have so much going on. Tomorrow is a full day of school, packing for our trip to Cali and our cookie exchange umbrella meeting. Oh yea, I guess the girls and I need to make the cookies somewhere in there too! :) Wednesday we have a school party and the last day of school before we break for our three week holiday. Directly after party clean up we are out the door to catch our plane. Of course the last day of school entails a lot to turn in; projects, exams, etc. Oh, being that we are a homeschool family I guess I need to explain what I mean by "school." Our oldest daughter is in a co-op. They meet two days a week and cover her main classical subjects: Latin, Grammar, History and Science. Our breaks coincide with her schedule as well as my last minute mandated Mommy-needs-a-day decisions. Do many of you have those days?

Welcome

Hello and welcome to Precious In His Site!
I have enjoyed reading several like-minded blogs the past few months and have finally found an afternoon to start my own. I am passionate about my husband and my beautiful children. I have four children who were adopted through the foster system. So, I am passionate about adoption as well! My husband and I have been married 12 years (13 in June). We enjoyed a military lifestyle during the first 11 years of our marriage and have only recently "settled down" to civilian life. We have a "quiverful" conviction and the Lord has chosen to fulfill his promise to us through adoption.
I am a stay at home mom homeschooling my precious arrows.

Romans 8:15
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of Adoption, by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
