I think it's just the age, but Daniel has come up with some really funny quotes...
Daniel to Daddy: Are you old?
Daddy: Well, I am kind of old.
Daniel: That means you're gonna DIE!
Daddy: Well, I'm not that old. (Daddy and Mommy look at each other and laugh!)
Daniel: Can I have one of my gum ball machines? (Meaning a gum ball from the machine.)
